The project will power 132,000 households in central Saudi Arabia with clean energy

Sineng Electric, a global leader in inverter solutions, has signed a contract with Larden & Toubro (L&T), a multi-national conglomerate specialising in EPC, to supply the former’s 1500v 6.25mw Turnkey Stations to power the 700mw Ar Rass solar PV Independent Power Plant (IPP), one of Saudi Arabia’s National Renewable Energy Program (NREP) large projects, which aims to maximise renewable energy share, diversify energy sources, and decarbonise the local economy.

The press release has indicated that the ordered inverters will be durable against the Al Qassim harsh environment, where they will be installed, as well as have advanced safety designs like IP65 and forced-air cooling, to ensure reliable operation and security. Other noted features of the equipment include high efficiency, high energy density, convenient transportation and easy installation; in addition to a potential for lower Levelised Cost of Energy (LCOE) and an increase in return on investment.

A consortium led by ACWA Power is behind the development of the $450mn (AED1.65bn) project, a power purchase agreement signed for 25 years with the Saudi Power Procurement Company (SPPC). The 700mw Ar Rass PV IPP will contribute to Saudi Vision 2030 by powering approximately 132,000 households in central Saudi Arabia with clean energy.

Wu Qiang, Chairman of Sineng Electric, said: “Sineng Electric will make a concentrated effort to provide support for the project and guarantee its smooth running with high-quality products and services. We look forward to mutual trust and win-win partnerships to create greater value for customers.”
