The General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) has signed a preliminary agreement with Total Energy for the construction of a 500 megawatt solar plant in Libya in the As Saddadah area, announced GECOL.
This is one of the first newly-signed projects to produce electricity from renewable sources in the country. GECOL reported that the signing of this agreement is part of the joint cooperation between the company and Total to produce energy from renewable sources.
