Kuwait has exited summer 2022 with new all-time records for both electricity demand and generation. July and August typically see temperatures soar above 50°C leading to a spike in power use for air conditioning.
Latest figures from the Ministry of Electricity and Water (MEW) show peak load hitting a record 16.18GW for August (see chart 1), up from the previous record of 15.67GW hit in June and 15.60GW for July.
