Construction works on the 300MW solar independent power producer (IPP) scheme in Jeddah are expected to complete soon. A team comprising the UAE’s Masdar, France’s EDF Renewables and the local firm Nesma is developing the 300MW Jeddah solar IPP.

The developer team submitted a leveled electricity cost of 6,090 hals/kWh for the scheme in 2020 and won the contract in 2021. The Masdar-led team appointed the renewables arm of India’s Larsen & Toubro (L&T) for the engineering, procurement and construction ( EPC) contract for the project in January 2021.
