Berlin : A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Iraqi Ministry of Electricity and Siemens in Berlin. The event happened during Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Al-Sudani’s official visit to Germany.

Ziyad Ali Fadel, the Iraqi Minister of Electricity, and Christian Bruch, the CEO of Siemens Energy, signed the MoU.

The agreement included a number of crucial components that make up an action plan for the development of Iraq’s electrical industry.

Siemens is working to create a comprehensive strategy for the overall electrical system in Iraq, including the construction of new power plants, in conjunction with the Ministry of Electricity. The MoU also involves a thorough analysis of Iraq to ascertain how associated gas may assist and boost electricity output.

According to the agreement, Siemens and the Ministry of Electricity highlighted the importance of clean energy. Thus, the MoU covered the execution of renewable energy projects, specifically solar and wind energy, as well as the construction of transmission stations in all areas of Iraq.

The Iraqi government’s resolve to contribute the funds required to carry out the MoU inked with Siemens was reaffirmed by Al-Sudani while meeting with Siemens Energy CEO at the Prime Minister’s residence in Berlin.
