The firm’s wind turbines to help power a utility-scale green hydrogen plant

Envision Energy has signed a contract to supply 1670MW of wind turbines to NEOM Green Hydrogen Company, which claims to be the world’s largest utility-scale hydrogen plant powered entirely by renewable energy.

The mega plant is located at Oxagon in Saudi Arabia.

Under the contract, Envision’s 171-6.5MW wind turbines will be installed and are expected to be fully operational by 2026. Envision Energy chief executive Zhang Lei said: “This contract represents a significant milestone for both our companies and the industry at large.

“We are proud to be associated with such an ambitious project that will pave the way for other companies to follow suit in pursuing sustainable initiatives.”

NEOM Green Hydrogen Company aims to produce carbon-free hydrogen using solely renewable energy sources such as wind and solar power to produce up to 600 tonnes per day of carbon-free hydrogen by the end of 2026.
