At, WETEX, Modon reviews its support to supply chains of renewable energy in KSA – EQ Mag Pro
The “Invest Saudi” pavilion in the 23rd Water, Energy, Environment Technology Exhibition (WETEX) and Dubai Solar Energy Show on Tuesday in Dubai.
RIYADH : The Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (Modon) participated in the 23rd Water, Energy, Environment Technology Exhibition (WETEX) and Dubai Solar Energy Show being held between Oct. 5-7 under the title “Energy and Suitability” at the Dubai Exhibition Center.
Director of the Marketing and Corporate Communications and Spokesperson of Modon Qusay Al-Abdulkarim noted that Modon is participating in the exhibition under the umbrella of “Invest Saudi” with the aim of reviewing projects, advantages and investment incentives granted at industrial cities, as part of its strategy to empower the industry and contribute to increasing the local content in line with the Saudi Vision 2030.
He pointed out that the exhibition is among the biggest specialized exhibitions in the region that is held with the participation of more than 1,200 companies from 55 countries, representing an important platform for manufacturers, investors, companies and commercial agents from all over the world to showcase modern technologies, exchange expertise and build partnerships in diversified fields and activities in the energy sector.
Also, the Ministry of Investment and a group of government entities, megaprojects and the private sector are participating in the 2021 WETEX event under the umbrella of “Invest Saudi”.
The participation aims at reviewing the investment opportunities for companies and investors and showing Saudi Arabia’s commitment to attracting qualitative investments in the energy and water sectors and transferring and localizing technology and knowledge in cooperation with public entities and in partnership with the private sector.
Saudi Arabia, under the Saudi Vision 2030, is planning to produce 50 percent of its energy needs through renewable energy resources to meet the increasing demand on energy and adding 5.5 million cubic meters of desalinated seawater per day by 2026.
The Kingdom is the biggest country producing desalinated water and the sixth globally in capabilities of producing solar energy and 13th in the potential of producing wind energy, in addition to ranking 11th in producing electricity power at the global level.
