Netivei Israel – National Transport Infrastructure Company earlier in August launched a tender to award solar projects at three highway interchanges.
The deadline for bids is December 15, 2021 and the total capacity to be awarded, according to a Globes report, will be around 20 MW.
Israel recently relaxed the approval processes for solar projects at fish ponds, interchanges and other location to support national renewable energy goals. Financial daily Globes says Netivei Israel has 5,000 acres which could be used for photovoltaic (PV) projects.
The winner in the tender will build and operate the solar capacity.
