KUWAIT : Minister of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy Mutlaq Burguba stressed on the importance of accelerating the national plans regarding producing no less than 15 percent of the electrical grid consumption from renewable energy sources by 2023.
The ministry noted in a statement that Burguba met with the renewable energy specialists and discussed relevant topics, current and future governmental projects, its implementation with a follow up on them.
The meeting focused on achieving energy conservation to produce 10 percent of the ministry’s building’s consumption of electric energy to be from renewable energy, stated the ministry, noting that they discussed the establishment of an organizational unit in the ministry to handle the tasks and projects related to renewable energy.
The meeting was attended by Acting Undersecretary Maha Al-Asousi, Assistant Undersecretary for Technical Services and Main Concerns Sector Ahmed Al-Rashidi, Assistant Undersecretary for Electric Power Stations and Water Distillation Sector Haitham Al-Ali, and Assistant Undersecretary for Distribution Networks Engineer Saad Al-Rashidi.
